From the Composer and Lyrist of Hamilton, Lin-Manuel Miranda’s In the Heights tells the universal story of a vibrant community in New York’s Washington Heights neighborhood – a place where the coffee from the corner bodega is light and sweet, the windows are always open, and the breeze carries the rhythm of three generations of music. It’s a community on the brink of change, full of hopes, dreams and pressures, where the biggest struggles can be deciding which traditions you take with you, and which ones you leave behind.
We will be closed for Easter Weekend.
Tuition is based on a four-week month. Five-week months will be applied to studio holidays or vacation days. (This Excludes Private Lessons)
It is the responsibility of the student to make-up missed classes within a month from when the closure occurred. Make-up classes may not be taken in the same class in which the absence occurred. Make-up lessons are non-transferable.
Private Students/Parents, please speak with your instructor about which session you’re child will perform in. There is a $20 participation fee per student. No tickets are necessary. Students may bring 5 guests to watch them perform. Enjoy a session of private music students sharing their work and skill with a live audience.
Voucher Codes
As a courtesy this year we will be distributing Voucher codes for the Showcase. Every VSPA family is entitled to 1 voucher code for pre-sale ticket purchases. The Voucher will allow families to pre-purchase a total of 5 Tickets to the Summer Showcase only during the Voucher Pre-Sale Period. Don’t Lose The Voucher Code.
How it will work:
In May, One Voucher Per Family (with a Participating child(ren) only) will be distributed at VSPA. (Tuition & Costumes will need to have been paid in full to get a voucher) This one voucher can be redeemed at The Lewis Family Playhouse Online Box Office to purchase 5 Tickets total during the Voucher Pre-sale Period.
In the early years, some families were not able to get tickets to the showcase. As a courtesy, we worked out a system that will allow 5 tickets to be purchased as a pre-sale for participating families. The pre-sale will be available for 2 weeks. The 5 tickets are for all Five performances, not 5 tickets per performance. Once the Public Sale begins, additional tickets may be purchased to the performances.
Voucher Pre-Sale Period will Begin on Friday, May 12th at the Lewis Family Playhouse Online Box Office. (Pre-sale period Friday, May 12th – Wednesday, May 31st)
Public ticket sales will begin on Thursday, June 1st at the Lewis Family Playhouse Box Office. At this time additional tickets may be purchased to the performances without the Vouchers.
ALL Tickets will be: $20.00
Anyone attending a performance must have a ticket regardless of age. This is due to Lewis Family Playhouse Policy and Fire Department Safety.

Join us for an evening of Dance! Evolution & Friends Concert is celebrating it’s 3rd Annual Concert. It will feature work by Guest Artist, Janell Burgess, Student Choreography and works by Evolution Directors, Annie Lee and Haihua Chiang. Our “Friends” that will be presenting work is CalliOpus. We hope to see you there!
Looking for Intermediate/Advanced Dancers, High School Aged Dancers
Purpose:
- To give serious dancers an opportunity to get to the next level of dance.
- To prepare dancers for Collegiate Dance Programs or Regional Professional Companies.
- To continue in their pursuit of improving their technical and performance skills.
- To give dancers opportunities to explore movement through personal choreography and repertoire with Artists in Residence.

Dress in leotards, tights and leggings. Bare feet or socks. Bring ballet shoes as well.

Need a costume adjustment?! Come and get some help from our resident Costume Designer. She charges less than you’d pay at the dry cleaners because she loves VSPA and VSPA dancers. Come ready to try on the costume for her.
