The value of performance over competition.

Art is very subjective. Competitions in art are often difficult to assess. What one person deems a masterpiece does not necessarily mean that everyone will also love it. We feel that the only person the artist should be competing with is the artist within. VSPA strives to offer young artists great technique, good work ethics, and plenty of performance opportunities.

Young, emerging artists need performance opportunities and outlets. VSPA offers two MainStage Dance Productions/Recitals a year. In addition, VSPA presents four Musicals each year that students can participate in. The Theater Department presents an evening of drama each Fall. The Music Department offers students three Music Recitals each year in which they can present their skills and artistry to an audience.

Performances are crucial to building confidence and skill in the young artist.
